Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Warehouse & Delivery Technician to support the delivery, setup, and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME). This role plays a critical part in ensuring patients receive safe, clean, and properly functioning medical equipment in their homes or care facilities.
This position combines warehouse operations, equipment handling, and delivery services, with direct interaction with patients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Equipment Setup
- Transport, assemble, test, and install medical equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, oxygen equipment, and other DME
- Deliver and set up equipment in patient homes or healthcare facilities
Patient & Caregiver Education
- Instruct patients and caregivers on safe use, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment
- Provide professional and respectful service in sensitive care environments
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, stage, pick, and inventory medical equipment
- Clean, disinfect, inspect, and prepare returned equipment according to safety standards
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately complete delivery records, service documentation, and inventory logs
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and manufacturer safety guidelines
Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities
- Perform daily vehicle inspections
- Safely load and secure equipment for transport
- Maintain a clean driving record
On-Call Support
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency or after-hours deliveries as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment (often 100+ lbs)
- Basic mechanical aptitude for assembling equipment
- Familiarity with inventory systems or handheld devices preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- Physically demanding role requiring manual handling of equipment
- Possible exposure to infectious materials; PPE will be provided and required
