Law Enforcement Records Analyst II (Experienced)
Location: Central Austin, TX (100% In-Office)
Only candidates in Austin and its surrounding areas will be considered. No remote work available.

 Please note this role requires an extensive background investigation beyond a standard employment check. This includes a detailed review of any prior police records or encounters, including arrests, charges (even if not convicted), or significant law enforcement contact. We are looking for candidates with no history of police involvement or criminal record. This is critical to meet the strict eligibility criteria for access to law enforcement records and to maintain the integrity and security standards of the position. Background check can take around 3 weeks or more to complete

Position Overview
GSG Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Records Analyst II to support a government agency in Austin, TX. This role involves managing and reviewing electronic and hard copy records, ensuring the accuracy of investigative reports, and working closely with law enforcement agencies to verify and correct information. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience handling confidential records, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review investigative reports and extract relevant information for data entry
  • Maintain electronic filing systems, investigative records, and case files
  • Identify and resolve incomplete record submissions
  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies to verify and collect correct information
  • Respond to inquiries from department staff and external agencies via email and phone
  • Compile data for reports, charts, and databases
  • Draft letters and memoranda explaining investigative findings and corrective actions
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in records management or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Experience and education may be substituted for one another)
  • Ability to pass a law enforcement-sensitive background check
  • Strong knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with precise attention to spelling and grammar
  • Ability to analyze and apply standardized information management procedures to critical situations
