GSG Talent Solutions is seeking experienced Purchasing Professionals for a short-term contract assignment with a Texas state agency. This assignment is expected to begin in early August 2026 and continue through approximately November 2026.
Classification & Pay
Purchaser IV (Experienced) – $42.73/hour
- Current CTCD certification required
Purchaser III (Experienced) – $36.99/hour
- Candidates without a CTCD certification will be considered under this classification.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Arrangement
Hybrid
- 2–3 days per week in the office during the first few weeks for training.
- 1–2 days per week in the office after onboarding.
- Candidates who prefer to work in the office full-time are welcome to do so.

Job Description
Work involves planning, organizing, coordinating, and preparing specifications for purchasing commodities and services. This position is responsible for developing and evaluating a broad range of contracts while supporting procurement activities for a Texas state agency.
Essential Duties
- Requisition commodities and services while interpreting and applying established purchasing guidelines, policies, rules, and state laws.
- Review requisitions for completeness and compliance before processing Invitations for Bid (IFBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Offers (RFOs), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
- Prepare, review, and track purchase orders.
- Reconcile invoices and process payments.
- Monitor purchasing, procurement, and contract management requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide detailed procurement and contract status updates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas state government purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of Texas purchasing and procurement methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of business administration and accounting principles.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and quickly become productive in a fast-paced environment.
Certification
- CTCD certification is required for the Purchaser IV (Experienced) classification.
- Candidates without a CTCD certification may be considered for the Purchaser III (Experienced) classification.
