Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Program Specialist VI to serve as the Academic Public Health Partnership Coordinator in the Office of Practice and Learning. This role supports the Academic Public Health Partnership Initiative, a statewide program aimed at strengthening collaborations between academic institutions and public health partners. This initiative focuses on workforce development, public health research, and improving health outcomes in Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination:
Plan and coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking detailed minutes, and tracking action items.
Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to organize schedules, send reminders, and distribute materials.
Contribute to strategic planning and report on initiative goals.
Contract Management:
Oversee six Academic Public Health Partnership Contracts by facilitating meetings, tracking budgets, and monitoring work plans and invoices.
Provide technical assistance and clear communication with university partners and stakeholders.
Evaluation and Improvement:
Assist in quality improvement, evaluation, and sustainability efforts for partnerships.
Develop and analyze surveys, recommend program enhancements, and contribute to reports and presentations.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Support additional tasks and initiatives for the Office of Practice and Learning as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Demonstrated experience in public health (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in public health, health education, and workforce development best practices.
Expertise in tools like SurveyMonkey, SmartSheet, Microsoft Excel, and other MS Suite applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Analytical abilities to interpret data and create actionable reports.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
