Position: Program Specialist I (Contract)
Location: Austin, TX (In-Office Only)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $31.97 per hour (paid weekly)
Important Requirements
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
Must be able to start on March 2
Must be available and in attendance for the first full three (3) weeks of mandatory training
Candidates must be able to report onsite to the office in Austin, TX

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, bilingual Program Specialist I for a contract role. This position provides routine consultative services and technical assistance in support of agency programs. The role operates under moderate supervision while allowing some independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Determine eligibility of recertification applicants
Document all client interactions and relevant information both in writing and electronically
Prepare written correspondence in Microsoft Word requesting missing or additional documentation
Consult with Program Specialist V regarding rejected applications, special exceptions, and appeals
Ensure recertification timelines outlined in the procedure manual are met
Identify clients due for recertification, coordinate mailing of recertification packets, and document non-responses
Research, compile, and evaluate statistical data
