Position Purpose
GSG Talent Solutions is seeking a Licensed Architect to serve as a cornerstone of our technical leadership team. The primary purpose of this role is to assume professional stamping authority and provide comprehensive technical oversight across all project phases. By leading code compliance reviews and interfacing with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), the Licensed Architect will ensure the highest standards of architectural integrity while reducing founder dependency on day-to-day technical approvals.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
The Licensed Architect will be responsible for the technical validity and legal compliance of the firm’s architectural output:
Professional Certification: Review, approve, and apply professional seal/stamp to architectural drawings and specifications.
Code & Regulatory Oversight: Perform rigorous code compliance reviews, including IRC, IBC, and ADA/Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS).
Production Leadership: Oversee and audit the work of production staff to ensure alignment with design intent and technical requirements.
Municipal Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for AHJs to navigate permitting, variances, and project approvals.
Technical Mentorship: Mentor junior designers and drafters, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth within the ArchiCAD environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Licensure: Current license to practice architecture is required. (Texas registration is strongly preferred; candidates with NCARB certification for reciprocal licensure will be considered).
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural firm, with a strong background in construction documentation and technical review.
Software Proficiency: Advanced ArchiCAD proficiency is required. Must be comfortable leading teams within a BIM Teamwork environment.
Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of the IRC and IBC, as well as state and local building ordinances.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex project workflows and provide constructive technical critiques to production staff.
Compensation & Professional Standing
Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 per year.
Determination: Final salary is commensurate with licensure status, years of experience, and the level of professional stamping responsibility assumed.
