Agency: DFPS – Records Management Group (RMG)
Pay Rate: $21.45/hr
Position Summary:
Performs complex records and information management work to protect, maintain, and provide agency records in compliance with state laws and DFPS policies. This role works under general supervision with moderate independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and respond to open records requests in accordance with the Public Information Act (PIA)
Scan, index, classify, store, and retrieve case and administrative records
Research and identify responsive records using the DFPS IMPACT system
Ensure proper redaction and verification of authorized requestors
Maintain records tracking systems and disposition logs
Coordinate with legal counsel on records release, retention, and destruction
Assist with records retention schedules and records management systems
Prepare reports and track records production timelines
Support disaster recovery and vital records protection efforts
Provide technical assistance and training to staff on records procedures
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Four (4) years of full-time administrative, clerical, secretarial, general office, or DFPS experience
Preferred:
Knowledge & Skills:
Records management laws, retention schedules, and information governance
Public Information Act processes
Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Strong research, organization, and analytical skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Schedule: Regular attendance required in accordance with agency policy.
