The Architectural Drafter – Entry Track is a developmental role designed to build long-term production capacity within our architectural services division. This position offers a structured pathway for emerging professionals to master ArchiCAD and company-specific design standards. The successful candidate will transition from a trainee to a high-output production drafter through a rigorous 90-day onboarding and assessment period.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities. As an integral member of the production team, you will be responsible for:
- Legacy Data Management: Redrawing and updating legacy residential plans into modern ArchiCAD environments.
- Project Modeling: Utilizing standard company templates to develop 3D models for residential projects.
- Drafting & Revisions: Applying structured redline revisions to existing drawings with high attention to detail.
- Permit Coordination: Assisting in the assembly and preparation of comprehensive, permit-ready drawing sets.
- Documentation Support: Coordinating schedules and maintaining project documentation to ensure workflow efficiency.
Structured Training & Career Path. This position is a "Training-to-Production" pipeline with clear milestones:
- Phase 1 (First 60 Days): Intensive ArchiCAD software training and immersion in company drafting standards. Completion of basic proficiency certification is required.
- Phase 2 (60–90 Days): A structured production ramp-up where the drafter begins handling live project redlines under senior supervision.
- Phase 3 (Ongoing): Full integration into the production team. Advancement and salary increases are tied to measurable performance benchmarks and production metrics.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s Degree or higher in Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Aptitude: Strong desire to master ArchiCAD (previous experience in AutoCAD or Revit is a plus, but not required for this track).
- Detail Oriented: Exceptional ability to translate redline markups into clean, accurate digital drawings.
- Communication: Ability to work effectively across teams to coordinate project schedules and documentation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Training Salary: $40,000 – $50,000 (During initial 90-day training/ramp period).
- Post-Training Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 (Upon successful completion of benchmarks).
- Growth: Advancement is strictly tied to demonstrated proficiency and production volume metrics.
