The Accountant V position is a fully remote position, BUT candidates MUST be able to report to the office in Austin TX, if needed. Monday through Friday; Full time hours

Responsibilities:

• Performs monthly reconciliations between TCAPPS (TEA's modified version of CAPPS accounting system) and the Uniform State-wide Accounting System (USAS) at the cash and appropriation levels.
• Performs monthly reconciliations of federal grants between TCAPPS and the federal grant system.

Skills Required:

• Intermediate or advanced Excel knowledge is required
• Fast learner who thrives in a high-performing environment
• Highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
• Must have experience performing financial reconciliations between two systems
• Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role in financial management or public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Familiarity with financial auditing processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience using financial software, particularly QuickBooks, is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
