GSG is looking for an experienced Accountant IV professional for a contract position. This project is expected to last approximately five months and will focus heavily on reconciliation, data analysis, validation, and year-end reporting.

Candidates MUST have heavy reconciliation experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

Candidates MUST be able to report to the office in Austin, TX.

Pay: $44.62 per hour (weekly pay)

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description:

The Accountant IV will support accounting and reporting activities involving detailed reconciliation, data validation, exception research, and tax reporting. This position requires someone who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working with large volumes of transaction data, and able to quickly learn new processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate taxpayer data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform detailed reconciliation and validation of reporting outputs.
• Research and resolve data exceptions and discrepancies for year-end processing.
• Analyze large volumes of transaction data to identify trends, anomalies, and programming requirements.
• Document business rules and decision points necessary for system programming and tax reporting.
• Support the timely and accurate preparation of 1099 and other tax reporting information.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Heavy reconciliation experience is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including spreadsheet and other business software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively within a professional team environment.
