Accountant IV (Contract) – Austin, TX

Contract Role | $44.62/hour | Weekly Pay | State of Texas Agency

Location: Austin, TX (Applicants must reside in or within the Austin city limits)
Contract Dates: October 1, 2025 – March 19, 2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $44.62 per hour (paid weekly)

About the Role

GSG Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Accountant IV to support a State of Texas agency in Austin, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with advanced Excel skills and a background in state accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit invoices against purchase order and contract terms
• Process invoices for payment using TCAPPS (Texas Comptroller’s Accounting System)
• Collaborate with accounts payable staff to ensure timely and accurate processing
• Assist with other accounting duties as assigned

Required Qualifications (Deal Breakers)

Proven experience with accounts payable procedures and processes
Advanced Excel knowledge (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
Experience with CAPPS and USAS (State of Texas systems) – required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to pass a background check
