Pay: $30.34 per hour (weekly Pay) 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (Potential for remote work after training)

Job Description:

• Review, analyze, and prepare accounting documents and reports.
• Specialize in the payment of vendor and grant invoices.
• Provide technical advice to department and program staff regarding proper accounting treatment.
• Determine appropriate account codes and chart field information.
• Utilize various software applications including CAPPS, USAS, Excel, and Word.
• Work under moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with CAPPS, USAS, Hal File, and HHSAS.
• Process vendor and grant invoices.
• Follow payment policies and procedures.
• Confirm account codes and chart field coding.
• Verify purchase orders.
• Provide technical assistance to agency staff.
• Train peers in payment processes.
• Complete required training and refreshers.
• Assist with report preparation.
• Support disaster response and/or recovery efforts.

Requirements:

• Must be able to report to the office in central Austin, TX.
• No out-of-Austin applications will be accepted.
• Previous experience as an Accountant II preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
