About Us:
GSG Talent Solutions is a prominent staffing agency contracted with the State of Texas through the Work Wonders Program, prioritizing the hiring of individuals with qualifying medical conditions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Specialist who will be responsible for providing high-level expertise and support to EEDRS.
Job Details:
Hours/Days: Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm in person (potential of up to 2 remote workdays)
Start Date: ASAP – August 31, 2025 (contract position)
Pay Rate: $55.33 per hour
Job Description:
Contractor duties will include linking newborn screening records with birth records using probabilistic linkage methods and software (e.g., MatchPro), manually evaluating and deduplicating matched newborn screening and birth records data and linking matched records with birth defects data using deterministic matching methods and software (e.g., MatchPro).
Essential Job Functions:
- Link health records data (e.g., newborn screening records, birth records, birth defects data) using appropriate linkage methods (e.g., probabilistic, deterministic) and software (e.g., MatchPro)
- Manually evaluate and deduplicate linked health records using appropriate classification criteria
- Document procedures for health records data linkage and duplication
Knowledge, Skills and Ablities:
- Advanced knowledge of record-level health data
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Windows,
- Skills in probabilistic linkage analysis procedures and software (e.g., MatchPro)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher with major coursework in public health, epidemiology, research methodology, biostatistics, or related field.
- Experience in public health research
- Experience in health records linkage and deduplication
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Experience in public health research
